Zyvex
co-hosts Professor Vladmir Agranovich’s 75th Birthday
Celebration at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Zyvex was the sponsor of the University of Texas at
Dallas dinner honoring Professor Vladamir Agranovich.
Professor Agranovich, who is currently the head of the
theoretical department at the Institute of Spectroscopy
at the Russian Academy of Science, as well as a professor
of physics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology
in Moscow, has become UTD’s the first “Pioneer
of NanoScience.” The purpose of this newly created
position is to bring science and technology pioneers
from around the world to UTD for extended sabbaticals.

Founder invited to Oval Office. Jim Von Ehr,
Zyvex Chairman and CEO (2nd from right), was invited
to join President Bush as he signed the 21st
Century Nanotechnology Research and Development Act
in the Oval Office of the White House, December 3, 2003.

MANCEF
presents James Von Ehr commercialization award at COMS
2003.
MANCEF presented the James R. Von Ehr award for the
commercialization of nanotechnology on September 8th
at COMS 2003 in Amsterdam. This year’s winners
were Matthias Kautt and Peter Bley from Forschungszentrum
Karlsruhe GmbH, co-authors of “Using ‘Off
the Shelf Nanotechnology’ as a viable way to enhance
the performance and economical attractiveness of microsystems.”
